It’s well worth reflecting on

Fear – Don’t Waste It

How much have we put fear in charge of our lives? How much do
we avoid doing the very things that feel right to us? How much
do we put our power into other peoples’hands becausew e fear
the responsibility of trusting ourselves?

More and more I hear people say that we’re living in a society where
political correctness has gone mad – where we’re fearful of the legal system
that seems to have lost its sanity in so many ways – where people such as
teachers fear showing the tenderness of their touch to a child in pain.

So, who is in charge of our society if it’s not the demon of fear and fully
supported by the collective rational or is it “irrational” minds, motivated
by fear?

How many people are doing jobs in such a way that seems wrong to
them, where they are unable to show compassion or offer kindness,
because they’re being recorded for “training purposes” and watched by the
Gestapo of Industry – and all this is happening whilst they repeat endlessly
“Is there any other way I can help you today?” And beside them displayed
prominently on the wall there is a Mission Statement that says “We’re here
because we care”.

What is driving us onwards – is it caring or is it increasing fear? There
are so many beautiful human beings with wonderful hearts looking over
their shoulders for fear of offending this regulation, that order, or that
law.

So where does fear take us?

It takes us to distress, anxiety, depression,
insomnia, sickness, and often, insanity.  Where does love take us and how
does it motivate us? Well that’s for all of us to explore and to discover – but
remember courage, determination and empowerment are all aspects of
love.

Perhaps this is the experiment that we’re all here to be part of – and to do
this we need to keep observing how fear is motivating so much that we do.

Then we need to make the decision to face these fears one by one.

Fears are a bit like weights in a gymnasium – we can use them to build our
inner strength – but unlike those weights, fears often disappear once we
face them and can see them for what they truly are.
